Southern Region Youth Grants

The Southern Region sometimes offers grants to its youth members for certain activities. Typically grants are made available for events that the region youth participate in such as the National Youth Rally and other Regional, National and International meets.

The decision to provide grants and the level of grant is determined by the whole Southern Region Council on an event by event basis. The Regional Youth Liaison Officers and the Regional Hon. Treasurer are obviously included in this process.

To comply with Club rules all the funding for the grants comes from money raised specifically to provide grants to the Youth. In many cases the Youth members are directly involved in the fundraising. 

The criteria for who is eligible for a Region Grant is also set by Region Council. The criteria once set remains in force until such time as Region Council reviews it.

Under the current criteria a Regional Youth member will qualify for grants if/when: list current criteria

Regional grants are separate from any grant which the youth member's own District Association (DA) may be providing for the same event. Each DA may determine its own level and criteria of grant. It would not be unusual for 2 youth members from different DAs within the Region to receive different levels of overall grant for the same event.
